 The BayStack 470-48T Switch is a stackable 48 port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Layer 2 switch that provides high-density desktop connectivity for enterprise wiring closets. It also includes two built-in GBIC (Gigabit Interface Converter) uplink ports and built-in stacking ports in a compact 1U rack-mount unit. The GBIC ports provide dedicated uplink connectivity to network core switches, doubles the uplink bandwidth. The switch has a comprehensive Quality of Service (QoS) features which ensures connectivity and network availability by managing and prioritizing data traffic and users for optimum performance. Its robust security features offer protection against unauthorized access to data traffic. The switch has built-in stacking ports for simpler and quicker stacking, as cascade modules are not required. The BayStack 470-48T switch includes the BaySecure feature which allows authentication of all access, not only to the switch for management and configurations but also access to the infrastructure. This stackable switch features IP Multicast support by examining Internet Group Multicast Protocol (IGMP) traffic in hardware at line rate, and pruning unwanted data streams from affecting network or end-station performance. The BayStack 470-48T Switch supports four groups of Remote Monitoring (RMON) on all ports and is SNMPv3 (Simple Network Management Protocol) compliant.
