SATA / Serial ATAHard Drives are used to provide extremely large storage capacities in both desktop & servers.
We offer bother enterprise-grade SATA drives and desktop-class HDD. Enterprise-grade means that the unit has a more durable motor and bearing to facilitate 24x7 duty cycles (primarily for servers). Filter by capacity, and look for the "Enterprise-Grade" marking.
Server Enterprise SATA Drive Kits: Servers typically use SATA disk drives mounted in trays for hot-plug (hot swappable) capability. These are available as system branded drive upgrade kits below (filter by Dell or HP etc).
All server kits use Enterprise Grade (24x7 Duty Cycle) Hot-swap SATA / Serial ATA hard drives, and are commonly used in Dell Poweredge Servers 840, 1900, 1950, 1950 III, 2900, 2900 III, 2950, 2950 III, 2970, 6900, 6950, R300, R900, R905, T300, T605 Servers and PowerVault MD1000, MD3000, NF100, NF500, NF600 Storage ArraysT110 II, T310, T320, T410, T420, T610, T620, T630, T710, R220, R310, R320, R415, R420, R420XR, R510, R515, R520, R610, R620, R630, R710, R715, R720, R720XD, R730, R730XD, R810, R815, R820, R910, R920, NX3000 and PowerVault Storage Arrays MD1200, MD3200, MD3200i, MD3800f ; HP & Compaq Proliant systems Gen2, Gen3, Gen4 and Gen 8 such as DL140 G2 , DL140 G3 , DL145 G2 , DL145 G3 , DL160 G5 , DL180 G5 , DL185 G5, DL320 G3 , DL320 G4 , DL320 G5 , DL320 G5p , DL360 G4p , ML110 G3 , ML150 G3 , ML310 G2 , ML310 G3 , ML310 G4 , ML310 G5 , ML350 G4p , ML350 G5, DL160 Gen8,DL320e Gen8, DL360e Gen8, DL360p Gen8, DL380e Gen8, DL380p Gen8, DL385p Gen8, ML310e Gen8, ML350e Gen8, ML350p Gen8, SL4540 Gen8, SL4545 Gen8 and Ibm xSeries such as 336, x336 and SFF (Small Form Factor) Servers & Storage Systems.</p>

SATA hard drives can also be used in an internal, non hot-swap application. In this case they are connected by a cable to a connector on the SAS / SATA controller. These drives are focused on capacity and value, rather than durability.
