Fanless Case Design for neTegriti DVR Upgrades

Previously, neTegriti eSATA DVR Hard Drives used a polycarbonate case with an electronically controlled fan. We still found hot-spotting in the enclosure and failure of the fan was the most common cause of problems. The design was therefore transitioned to a solid aluminium enclosure which acts as a large silent heat-sink. This is a fanless solution. Overall the unit is therefore quieter than the 8300HD itself. Drives temperatures are lower than the previous design, as long as the unit is not covered, and the passive vents are not blocked. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
