What are hard drives & SSDs?
Hard Drives (HDD) and Solid-State Drives (SSD) are two types of data storage devices used in computers.
- Hard drives store data on spinning disks (platters) that are coated with magnetic material.
- The disk spins, and a read/write head accesses the data.
- HDDs are relatively inexpensive and have a large storage capacity, making them a popular choice for storing large amounts of data.
