High reliability with redundancy mechanisms
The four LAN ports with failover support and hot-swappable drives ensure continual service uptime should the drives need replacement or unexpected LAN failure occurs. In addition, DS2015xs’ CPU benefits from a passive cooling design to avoid dependency upon a dedicated processor cooling fan, thus mitigating any critical point of failure. As to its hard drive fans, when the system detects a failure, the built-in redundancy mechanism will spin up the functional fan to properly ventilate the system

DS2015xs offers iSCSI LUN backup at storage level without extra charge. Synology LUN Clone and LUN Snapshot only take up 1/1000 of the original size which highly optimizes storage usage. In addition, Synology's LUN Snapshot lets you create up 256 snapshots per LUN using point-in-time technology without having any impact on system performance.
