Fujitsu's latest generation 15K RPM 2.5 inch (SFF) Enterprise Hard Disk Drives (MBC Series) continue to represent a leading edge design with best of class performance and reliability. With 36 and 73GB capacity points this technology becomes even more useable and advantageous in applications previously dominated by 3.5 inch.
Offering a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface and a 16MB buffer, performance is certainly not compromised by the physical size (70% smaller than it's bigger brother).
With design advantages ranging from lower power consumption (up to 50% reduction over conventional 3.5"), a smaller form factor that reduces system cooling requirements, low acoustics, redundant data paths and an interface design featuring scalability, hot plugability, simplified cabling (less conductors,less space,more air flow)and a common infrastructure which supports SATA . Leveraged from high maturity technology from it's proven 3.5-inch big brother, the MBB continues to lead the way in HDD design.
